In November of 2010 we featured a fresh and healing ambigram cutting by the super talented Christian Bedics; he’s just checked in with a more recent picture and all I could say was “wow”.
This is at a year healed.

November is turning out to be a good month for Christian Bedics; new to the Scarwars site this marks his third contribution in a few weeks; and a damn fine one it is. The lettering style has a really nice West Coast/Mike Giant vibe to it… and from what Christian told me, is on his own leg! Makes for a happy artist and client.

Our friend Wikipedia has this to say about ambigrams:
An ambigram is a typographical design or artform that may be read as one or more words not only in its form as presented, but also from another viewpoint, direction, or orientation. The words readable in the other viewpoint, direction or orientation may be the same or different from the original words.

This is the second cutting we’ve featured from our new friend Chris Bedics; fresh and healed.

I hadn’t planned on updating tonight, but as I sat down to watch a movie and prepare for the threat of a major snowstorm I happened upon new cutting by my poutine loving friend Efix Roy.
He says this lettering took approximately two hours. Clean work as always. I’m counting the months till my summer trip to spend some time in Quebec City with Efix- until then….
