Healed photos are all too infrequently sent to the artist; tattooists, piercers, scarification and modification artists all have the same complaints. So let this be a reminder- when your work heals, snap a photo and send it to your artist. They’d appreciate it. (and so would we!)

Brian Decker was working at the Philadelphia Tattoo Convention again this year; I crept up behind him and caught an “artists eye view” shot of him working on the always lovely Joli. Cutting at conventions is still sort of surreal to me. I guess we’ve reached a point where it’s just something people expect to see. (judging from the comments I overheard)

Photo of the finished cutting follows the break.

Claire and I are headed out to Texas for the Dallas Suscon tomorrow; I’ve packed the leica, two video cameras and the waterproof to document our journey. While most of what we capture will likely be suspension related, we’ll do our best to grab new photos for the scarblog.

” I didn’t aggravate it much at all during healing, and only kept it covered for about 5 or 6 days. I wanted a subtle scar, and I got one.”

More new old SW photos!
I love finding discs I had forgotten about; these were taken by my good friend and consigliere Brian Sowden. There are hundreds on the disc from the first and second events. SO many of our guests took pictures, and so FEW ever sent me discs of their images (that’s guilt-tripping, people… it’s never too late) but it’s always nice to see an event from another person’s perspective.

This shot features Dave Gillstrap, Ron Garza (back to the camera), Jesse Villemaire (on crutches), Johannes (aka Jo-hotness) Sammi (back to the camera) and in the distance Ryan Ouellette and Brian Decker cutting the first two pieces of the event at SW1.
