“The idea for the SCARWARS events/project came about in 2004 at the Modcon4 event I was hosting in Toronto. We had a client who wanted a collaborative scarification piece utilizing several styles (line cutting, flesh removal and branding) by several attending artists… Watching everyone working together made me realize that the scarification community had no central source for communication. The Scarwars events were created to bridge the gaps and get everyone together. The Scarblog is here to continue documenting and exploring the scarification culture and to hopefully have a little fun doing it.” -Shawn Porter |

There are no current plans for a 2011 Scarwars event; but if you shoot me an email, I can give you some recommendations.
I’ve been trying to find a scarification artist in Philadelphia,PA for a while now going on 8 years. I just recently found out about scarwars and wanted to know if you were going to bring it back to Philadelphia. If you are would the artist there be able to help me figure out a design since I only have a concept or would I need to look else where for that? That you very much for you help. I hope to hear back from you soon. It will surely make my day since I’ve wanted this since I was 13 and I am now 26.
