healedscarification2years Two year span Jesse Villmaire

I’m a firm believer in showing healed scarification here on the SW blog; to give accurate documentation on pieces regardless of how they eventually heal.

Today’s update is from Jesse “This Charming Man” Villemaire of Thrive in Canada; showing the fresh cutting and update at two years. The texture and definition are amazing; and to be honest it’s been way too damn long since I’ve posted anything by Jesse.

New work by Brian Decker- scalpel/cautery hybrid.
You have to appreciate the amount of work that went into drawing this, let along cutting/cautery branding it. Mister Decker has been doing a lot more work with the hyfrecator lately; very interested to see how this is going to turn out.

It’s been far too long since I’ve featured new work by Scarab’s John Joyce.
You can reach John via the SCARAB link on the sidebar!

I’m a big fan of letting the works speak for itself; mainly because I’m lazy and hate writing entries. Thankfully the lovely Ryann was kind enough to type up some thoughts for the scarblog. We usually show the fun part of Scarification; the pretty cuttings and branding. Ryann didn’t shy away from the nasty bits of healing… so read up. If you’re planning a cutting, it’s always good to know what to expect!

Often times you will see the freshly done scar, and the years plus follow up pictures of them. Rarely do you see or hear about the middle stage, the healing of these works of art. First, a little about me. I’m a 27 year old lovely lady who’s been getting cut by John Joyce of Scarab Body for the past few years now. I have a fair amount of tattoos, saw some various scarification pictures over the years, and this seemed like a natural progression for myself. I do not thrive on pain, I do not enjoy it. The finished product is beautiful and that’s what I seek.

More after the break!

rsz hc 43 What do you get if you multiply six by nine? Sean Phillips

I’m not going to lie; I’ve never read the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Barely made it through the movie, only paying attention when Zooey Deschanel was on-screen. So I don’t really “get” the whole 42 thing. I did some basic googling, and I still don’t really understand it. Then again, British humor and I have always had a hard time with each other. (Tommy Cooper? I’m looking at you.)

What I do get is that this flesh removal, by my old friend Sean Philips, looks great. And Hannah, the young lady wearing the cutting… much more interesting than British Sci-fi.

You can find Sean at: What Would Sean Do.com

72 Tattoo/Cutting Hybrid Brian Decker

First off; thanks to everyone who contributed to Claire’s Aids Walk.
Thanks to the support from our community, Claire raised her goal of $200 (and exceeded it- she’s still taking contributions) which will go to help out people in our community.

So; back on topic.
I just came across some new work by Mr. Brian Decker; a freshly done flesh removal/tattoo hybrid. Tattoo/scar hybrids are generally done over heavy black work tattooing, so it’s nice to see something that’s a little different.

Great work, Decker.
