Screamin Demon Update- Matias ‘Rata’ Tafel

Welcome to 2010, Scarwarriors. I’ve been taking a bit of a break from updating the Scarblog, but now I’m back and ready to get the fun train rolling. My friend Matias sent this one in; a healing shot of his amazing demon cutting we featured back in November. Great progress and texture.

sugar skull cutting

When you think of badass characters from South of the Border, you probably think of two things: Danny Trejo and Brian Decker. Brian had this to say about this hybrid cutting/branding Sugar Skull:

“I’m contemplating completely substituting skin removal with hyfrecator filling, as it’s much quicker and the results are seemingly better, in my opinion”

UGH. I SOOOOOO wish I could scar like this.

The hyfrecator is an electroCAUTERY device that dessicates the tissue via electric arc, not thermal heat. The tissue damage is much more isolated than with thermal cautery and much more controlled.

Trejo for the win! He’s got a bigger machete!

heh. A hyfrecator is an elecrosurgical unit- it’s cautery branding instead of peeling/cutting off skin.

PS- Decker vs. Trejo… who wins?

wow this is awesome! i wonder how much the branding parts will change as it ages?

This looks really amazing. Have no idea what is meant when “skin removal” will be replaced with fluxcapacitor filling or whatnot, but it looks damn good.
