Ask almost anyone who’s been visibly modified for any length of time which question they most hate hearing, and you’re probably going to get “Does it hurt” more often than anything else. From basic piercings to more advanced modifications, it seems obvious to most of us that needles or scalpels + skin = pain.
Yet the question is asked. In the supermarket, when we’re out to dinner, by our friends at work or school. Does having the skin over your ribs cut with scalpels and the flesh peeled off hurt?
It would seem so.
